WELCOME! We hope that our website gives you a glimpse of who we are becoming as a community of faith. We are a diverse constellation of souls, from many different backgrounds who are curious, warm, fun-loving, open minded, justice seeking and doing, questioning, and hopeful about the future. We are as God made us—the Beloved of God… so are you!
We know full well that God doesn’t live in our church building, but we believe Jesus when he said “those who seek, will find.” Our community of faith is a place where we can reliably find shelter from life’s storms, bring meaning to our stories, hear ancient and relevant wisdom from the Bible, sing, laugh, make connections between our faith and daily lives, ask the hard questions, and sense the presence of the Spirit. A child dedication service
Outside of extended families, local congregations are one of the few places left in our society where people form a community that spans generations.
We welcome people across the age and family continuum, from newborns to those of advanced age, from folks who live alone to family configurations of every sort. We also delight in every opportunity we have to interact with one another, from worship to education to service and mission, to just having fun sharing a meal or playing games. All God's children are welcome!
In addition to worship and religious education, we enjoy a variety of intergenerational activities, from Game and Grill Nights (summer) to Dinner and a Movie Nights (during school year).
Special seasonal activities for children and youth include an annual Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat, and a Children’s Christmas Pageant with Live Nativity and a summer Vacation Bible School —all free and open to be enjoyed by the community at large.
Through the David Manierre Scholarship Fund, we are pleased to provide grants to our college students. Because education is important to us, we are committed as a faith community to do everything we can to equip and encourage our young people for the journey ahead.
Through our connection with American Baptist Churches USA, our youth have the opportunity to be involved in summer camps and youth conferences, regionally and nationally, with scholarship aid available.
People of all ages volunteer tending to Margaret's Garden, whether by working the soil and planting, or by helping to pick the fruits, vegetables, and herbs to sell and raise funds for the Center of Hope (Haiti) and Habitat for Humanity of Westchester.
Our hope in the 2016-17 year is to strengthen our youth ministry for middle-school and high school youth through shared opportunities with other local faith communities, including our on-campus ministry partner, Iglesia Misión Bautista Hispana de Westchester.
