"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed... nothing will be impossible for you."
The Mustard SEEDS Collective is the umbrella structure for all our congregational and community ministries. SEEDS is an acronym for what we hope to create: "Sacred Encounters Empowering Dignity & Service." Our guiding purpose and everyday reminder is that "We are HERE FOR GOOD."

Center of Hope (Haiti), Inc.
The mission of the Center of Hope (Haiti), Inc. is to help the poorest of the poor children in Haiti become the most productive members of their society that they can be.
The Center is a fulfillment of the vision of Emmanuel St. Juste, who was born in Hinche, Haiti, where his parents raised five boys and five girls amid abject poverty. Trained in the ministry in Haiti, St. Juste came to Stamford, Connecticut, in 1974, where he formed the French Speaking Baptist Church of Stamford.
He shared his vision to build an orphanage in Haiti with many organizations and individuals, including James Lipscomb, a former member of First Baptist Church of White Plains. In 2004 Lipscomb enabled the formation of the Center and its tax-exempt status.
Through a variety of modest fundraising activities, First Baptist is proud to continue supporting the work of the Center.

Grow with us in Margaret's Garden
Margaret Pape was a treasure, one of those special souls who brought people together, no matter what their age, doing good things for good causes, while building up the body of Christ. Sadly, renal cell cancer took her life much too soon in March of 2010. Though her absence left a void in First Baptist life, Margaret’s legacy of faith, love, and service lives on in the mission and ministry of First Baptist through Margaret’s Garden.
All through the year, our members lovingly raise vegetables and herbs to share and sell. All proceeds benefit Center of Hope (Haiti). Visit us on Sundays during growing season to purchase some of the wonderful fruits from this endeavor. |

New Beginnings for an Orchard and our Gardens
Special thanks to Joe Mariotti, Ken Shortlidge, and high school volunteer, David Pereira, for their help over the past two Saturdays in planting the first trees of our new orchard and preparing Margaret’s Garden for a new season of growing fruits and vegetables. We extend the invitation to all who have interest in performing garden tasks such as planting, watering, weeding, etc., to join us on Saturday afternoons or at other times when you may have an hour or two to work.
